NEAPLES, Florida (AP) – A Florida man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for an accident that killed a 13-year-old.
The Naples Daily News reports that 35-year-old Pedro Silva-Diaz was convicted on Thursday after being accused of leaving the scene of the accident, dying and driving without a driver’s license.
Authorities say Silva-Diaz was driving on a road in East Naples in November 2017 when his car hit Shaden Colvin’s bike. That night, Silva-Diaz was found and arrested. The boy died the next morning. Silva-Diaz trial in June ended in wrong trial as jury failed to reach decision
