BARTOW. A Winter Haven man who was arrested in June for stealing a car he could not drive was sentenced to a year in state prison last year.
In October, 21-year-old Patrick Trower dropped the two charges of car theft and burglary. The prosecutor’s office dropped charges of theft of a vehicle, possession of morphine, and the use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
The judge sentenced Trower to a year and 27 days in state prison.
Winter Haven police arrested Trower after he attempted to steal a Nissan Sentra left with a gas station worker on Northwest Sixth Street. The car stalled when Trower tried to drive away because he could not operate the gear lever.
