A Florida man, accused of threatening his family by texting them Coldplay and warning them of retaliation from his “Nazi prison associates”, was reportedly persuaded by police to end the standoff in exchange for a fresh slice of pizza.
Evan Charles McLemore, who believed that SWAT negotiators were ready to hand him one of America’s favorite foods, was taken into custody Tuesday after a 4-hour confrontation at the Pensacola home.
“Never underestimate the power of a flavored crust pizza,” the Pensacola Police Department wrote on Facebook, adding that officers “cannot comment on rumors about pineapple in said pizza – operational security and all.”
It was not immediately clear if the responding officers had given McLemore a piece, but they charged him with resisting the officer without violence and aggravated harassment, according to the Pensacola News Journal.
