FORT PEERS, Florida – A Florida man and a Florida woman arrested for shoplifting at a Walmart store were allegedly allowed by the arresting officer to have sex in the back of a police car.
According to an internal investigation, Fort Pierce Police Officer Doug McNeill arrested 23-year-old Zachary Möllendick and 23-year-old Christa Lee from Palm Bay, Florida, for allegedly stealing a children’s toy and jewelry in July 2018. Lee handcuffed her behind her back, but later moved the handcuffs forward so she could smoke a cigarette. The officer did not handcuff Mellendick because he used crutches.
The couple was then placed in the back of a patrol car for transport to the St. Lucie County Jail for reservations.
While in the backseat of a police car, the couple allegedly used their hands to please each other while McNeill played Barry White’s “Can’t Get Enough Of You Babe” on the stereo.
The couple’s sexual activity was noticed by the deputies in the port of the prison.
McNeill was later punished for non-compliance with police procedures and inappropriate behavior.
