JACKSONVILLE, Florida. The man told police that his dog shot his girlfriend while she was sleeping.
Brian Murphy, 25, said his dog Diesel shot him, WFOX reported.
His girlfriend told the police that she was asleep when it happened and she doesn’t know exactly how it happened.
This may seem like an extreme version of my dog eating my homework, but Murphy said that was exactly what happened.
He told police that he brought his dog Diesel back to the bedroom after a night out, when he saw a flash and heard a popping sound.
He told the Jacksonville Sheriff’s office that he believed Diesel jumped onto the nightstand where his pistol was located and fired, shooting his girlfriend in the leg.
Neighbor Dianne Fay thought this statement sounded like a fake.
“A dog can’t shoot a gun … it’s crazy,” she said. “Have you seen how the dog fires the gun? Maybe in a cartoon. ”
A friend was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
