WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – After his photo spread online, a Florida man accused of masturbating at Walmart’s toy department surrendered, according to Winter Haven police.
Police said 19-year-old Elias Alan-Arturo Flor turned up at Winter Haven Police Department on Saturday evening after investigators shared a photo of him and asked the community to help identify him.
Officers said Flor committed an indecent act in front of a 12-year-old boy on Friday night while he was shopping with his mother in a Walmart toy aisle at 355 Cypress Gardens. According to police, Flor masturbated on the woman’s back. while she examined the items on the shelves and in her shopping trolley. The boy, who was standing next to the cart when the alleged act took place, told his mother about what had happened, but Flor flew away before she could see him, police said. The video showing the alleged incident confirmed the boy’s story, police said.
“This situation is absolutely disgusting,” said Winter Haven Police Chief Charlie Byrd. “I applaud the child’s courage to speak up and provide the details that provided information that we could pass on to the media that helped to finally arrest the suspect.”
Flor was arrested and charged with battery and indecent acts in the presence of a child 16 years old and younger.
